SEOUL
GOLD!!!
Stop number 3 on the tour and our first time to Seoul, Korea.
I will just get straight to the point, WE WON!!!!!!!! WOOO
HOOOOO!!!!!
It was an amazing week, it seemed to flow so effortlessly.
We marched through the 4 day event undefeated. Winning 6
straight matches. We were seeded number 14 heading into
the event, and beat seeds # 1,2,3 and 5 across the event.
We knocked out 3 Brasilian teams in succession. First (and
probably the toughest match) last weeks tournament winners
RENATA and TALITA. Then, last years tour champions LARISSA
and ULIANA (who won 6 events last year) and just when I
thought I could put my head up for air, another Brasilian
team in the Semi ANA PAULA and LELIA. This put us in to
the final against China (#1 seeds).
The air in Seoul was very dusty and smoggy and I had been
struggling for a few days with a sore throat, and when I
woke up sunday morning for the final, it had progressed
to an infection and I must admit I wasn´t feeling
too crash hot. Sometimes I think this makes you focus a
little more. The Chinese had had an impressive start to
the year with a 1st and a 2nd, but we knew the way we were
playing we would be hard to stop. Tamsin´s dominant
play at the net was inspiring and I worked hard to get everything
that came past her. For only her 3rd year as a beach volleyballer,
she is amazing, I can´t say enough about her commitment,
talent and athleticism.
We clicked to a new level this week, And only after our
3rd event together it is a sign of many great things to
come. :-) It was so much fun to play volleyball at that
level and everytime we took the court we just kept getting
better!
A special thanks to all the crew at the AIS in Adelaide,
especially, Marty and Brad, our training partners who make
all the girls look small over here. Their contribution has
been priceless.
TO Team LM....WOOOO HOOO, we did it!!!! Thanks for everything.
No resting for us, we start in Warsaw, Poland on Thursday,
so stay tuned.
Yours on the sand,

PS
